Westlake Austin, Texas is a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts, thanks to its beautiful natural landscape and numerous hiking trails. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced hiker, there is something for everyone in this picturesque area. Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail

This trail, referred to as the Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail, is located at the shores of Lady Bird Lake and stretches approximately for ten miles and passes through certain sections of the southern shores of Lake. It was in the past a trail designed for runners, walkers and bikers only but as the trail was expanded people from all activities are seen using it. It also leads to some of the best structures in terms of architecture such as the Congress Avenue Bridge and Zilker Park which are activities to take in the city.

Emma Long Metropolitan Park

Part of the Austin City Parks system, Emma Long Metropolitan Park is situated at Lake Austin’s shore, and besides offering a range of hiking opportunities, the park has other amenities as well. The park is well-done and has over 12 miles of trails for everyone, starting with easy ones to moderate trails. After hiking, one can also hire a kayak or paddleboard for the lake. It also has camping amenities for those who wish to experience the park in a weekend trip.

St. Edwards Park

If you crave hiking but lack the enthusiasm for meeting new people, then you should visit St. Edwards Park. This little-named park has been offering almost 3.2 miles of trail favored with numerous trees and impressive views of Bull Creek. There are technical difficulties, but they are not very extreme, and the trails are well marked for first time animals. The surface is relatively even, so the trails are easy to navigate even if you have had no prior experience. There is also a reputed location for a swimming pool, hence, do remember to pack swimming costumes for a refreshing wash in the waters.
